About this location
Despite being part of the largest independently owned bank in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, you’ll find that our Hawley branch maintains its small-town bank feel.
“I love the way our branch gives our customers a sense of importance, that their business really does matter to us,” said Sarah Crompton, a personal banking officer in Hawley. “We pride ourselves on knowing them on a first-name basis, and they feel they can trust us with their finances. On many levels, they aren’t just our customers, but our family.”
Some customers still stop by to find out what their account balance is or just to socialize and have a cookie, said Rick Schultz, president of our Hawley and Dilworth locations.
Getting to know the customers well also allows our employees to help out when we can.
“We are able to better identify those who are struggling in the community,” said Hailee Softing, a teller in the Hawley branch. “Bell’s Pay It Forward program (where Bell gives employees money each year to help people in need) has been so rewarding for us as well as our customers.”
The branch was First National Bank of Hawley until Bell purchased it in 2012. When you visit, you’ll meet many longtime bankers from the Hawley area who are active in church and civic groups.
Our customers are typically retail and business customers from Hawley, Highway 10 commuters, and people who need agricultural loans.
